Health and Safety (OHSAS18001 / CHAS)

Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors and service providers working on their premises operate in a safe way. Universal’s excellent record on Health and Safety  and  accreditations under OHSAS 18001 (Health and Safety Standard) and registrations under the  Safe Contractor and the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) provide you with assurance as to our commitment to Health and Safety.

Customer Service (SIA/ISO9001)

We retain Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Status within the remit of ISO 9001 (Quality Standard). As an SIA Approved Contractor we are demonstrably committed to providing top class customer service and the compulsory licensing of our staff.  All our staff are SIA licensed under The Private Security Industry Act and our personnel department handle the licensing administration on behalf of our employees. This means that our clients can rest assured that every one of our security operatives deployed on their premises is working within the law.

Environmental (ISO14001)

Universal is an ISO 14001 (Environmental Standard) Company which means that as part of your supply chain we are committed to minimizing the negative effect of our operations and processes on the environment and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, and other environmentally targeted requirements.

Training and Development

The majority of our training is provided internally and is designed to ensure that staff remains abreast of best practice and that the benefit of prior learning does not diminish as a result of skills fade. Universal employees benefit from flexible and practical training regimes and testing to help them in their work. The emphasis being on the overarching provision of service excellence through practical work based customer care training within a safe and secure environment.
